The Kamers online store is open!

The Kamers online store is open again for business. The second online store will be open from the 23 May till the 15 June. I really love the hot water bottles they have for sale. They also have some bakers twine, it looks like the same bakers twine I got from the Kamers show last year, I use it all the time for packaging online orders. Its a really nice present to get a crafter.
I'm sure you can spot the Bow Peep products:-)

That's the last of the navy blue earrings and the last of the purple fabric so if you like them the only place its available is from the Kamers online store.

Lo Autumn/Winter 2012

Elzaane from Lo Clothing has been very busy with her new Autumn/Winter 2012 collection. It is available from the JHB Neighborgoods Market (along with some Bow Peep accessories). Her clothing is really great quality, affordable and her attention to detail is amazing. I love these new images by Gareth Hubbard.

L'Nell & Pieter's beautiful wedding

Last year I was asked to make some ribbon brooches for three bridesmaids to wear on their dresses. I finally remembered to ask the L'Nell for some pictures.
Wow the wedding looked really beautiful!

vintage brooch bouquet

A while ago I posted two sneak peak pictures of a special order I was commissioned to make. This evening I was sent some beautiful pictures from the wedding.
Towards the end of last year I was asked to make a vintage brooch bouquet for a wedding. I spent a few mornings at the Milnerton Market negotiation with the traders on getting good prices on brooches as I needed a lot of brooches and I discovered that finding nice vintage brooches that fitted into a colour scheme was quite a task.

I was so relived when I sent the bride a picture when it was almost complete just to check if she liked the way it was looking and she responded by saying that she loved it and I shouldn't change anything. I am so happy that she loved the bouquet, I saw a picture of her at the wedding and she looked beautiful!

Help! We need names!

I just had a new batch of bow ties made and they are a little different from the last ones. The self tie bow ties seamed to intimidated a lot of men so I decided to have some pre-tied bow ties made. I have them in a variety of colour and they come in three different styles. I will upload them to the online store soon but before I do that they need names and I need your help. Small medium and large is just boring! Please help me come up with some cool new names for them!
If you come up with the best names I will send you something from the Bow Peep range.
(1, 2, 3 are pre-tied bow ties and no.4 is a self tie bow tie.)

New Product: Button Tote Bags

I have a new product! I love bags, I have too many so it was about time I had some Bow Peep button tote bags. I only have 19 at the moment, will see how they sell before I have more made.
They are lined in the inside.
They will be on sale at the You & Me & Everyone we know night market tomorrow evening and I am uploading them to the Bow Peep Facebook page, if you can't make it to the market and you would like one just leave your email address bellow the image on Facebook and I will post it to you.
Postage is R26 and the bags are R140.

DIY Hex Nut Bracelet

I have had this DIY tutorial by Honestly...WTF saved for ages and I haven't had the courage to make it till I saw someone wearing a Hex Nut Bracelet at a market the other day. Well its definitely not going to be a new Bow Peep product because it took about four hours to make and its not very neat. Even if I got it looking better I would charge a fortune just because it takes so long to make.
If you want to try making one yourself the instructions can be found here.
images from Honestly...WTF

My version
I think after some practice it could be much neater but I don't think I have the time or patience to get it looking as neat as theirs.
Let me know if you try making it!

New ribbon brooches

Some new ribbon brooches which are now available on the online store. They look great on a coat in winter and would make great Mothers Day presents.
Other brooches are also available from Cloak & Dagger (opposite Cavendish Square in Cape Town).
